You are expected to develop an independent and innovative research program in Geometry with relations to Algebra and Discrete Mathematics.

The successful candidate is expected to participate in the teaching duties of the Faculty of Mathematics including courses of the Bachelor, Master’s, and mathematical education programs, as well as service courses for other departments. For the core teaching program the teaching language is German, while for some service courses proficiency in English is required.

It is aimed at junior researchers who have a strong potential for a successful career in the sciences. Formal prerequisites for the appointment are set out especially in § 35 of the Higher Education Act for the Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt (Hochschulgesetz Sachsen-Anhalt, HSG LSA).

We are looking for an internationally renowned scientist in a modern area of Geometry, preferably with an algebraic focus. The applicant is expected to be able to collaborate with the existing research groups of the Institute of Algebra and Geometry and of the Faculty of Mathematics. Being able to contribute to interdisciplinary and university-wide collaborations e.g. with the Faculty of Computer Science is desired.

Offer: The recruitment will initially be in a temporary employment relationship for a period of five years. Remuneration is in accordance with the German W-Besoldung at level W2 Besoldungsgesetz Sachsen-Anhalt.
