Position Description:    

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Hobart and William Smith Colleges invites applications for two one-year, full-time visiting faculty positions in mathematics to begin July 1, 2018. A strong commitment to teaching is required. Duties include teaching five undergraduate mathematics courses over two semesters. Experience with and/or interest in working in a multicultural environment and encouraging mathematical excellence from students with diverse backgrounds and experiences is highly desirable. Research in areas that intersect with those of faculty in the department and background in teaching computer science are highly valued.

 

Application: Candidates with a Ph.D. in mathematics by August 2018 are strongly preferred but A.B.D. with teaching experience will be considered. An application should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, research statement, three letters of recommendation (at least one including comments on teaching), and a graduate transcript (scanned copy acceptable).
