University of New Haven Search#19J-KFSC Full time Faculty and Lecturers

The Department of Forensic Science at the King Fahd Security College (KFSC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, invites applications for at least two full-time Mathematics Faculty Members at the Assistant or Associate Professor Rank. The department is contributing towards the general studies/liberal arts component of a Bachelor of Science in Security Studies degree. Mathematics courses included within this program cover introductory/first year College Math and statistics, including the use of statistical software. This position will require relocation to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia no later than 1 September 2018.

These faculty members will teach three courses per semester, serve on committees to develop the curriculum, and participate in other assignments to advance academic programs in the College. Scholarship is encouraged and interested faculty can apply to access research funds to pursue a research program that is in line with the strategic plan of the Ministry of Interior.

The University of New Haven is advising KFSC in the development of this degree program, and assisting KFSC in recruiting faculty. These positions are not faculty appointments at the University of New Haven.

A competitive base salary and benefits package is available for qualified candidates. Appropriate graduate/advanced degrees and college teaching experience required. The standard contract is 1 year, renewable indefinitely.

Minimum Requirements: • Doctoral degree in mathematics or other appropriate field. • Prior teaching experience in higher education.

Preferred Requirements: • Experience teaching students where English is not their first language. • Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate their personal interest (or prior experience) in working in Saudi Arabia or other Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Background: The KFSC is charged with providing the highest quality security-related baccalaureate education to create the next generation of leaders for the Ministry of Interior. The University of New Haven has been engaged by the KFSC to assist them fully in transforming their current one-year, post baccalaureate leadership training program into a four-year bachelor's degree program in security studies.

The first cohort of students was admitted in Fall 2016 to a four-year Bachelor of Science program in security studies. The program seeks to deliver an innovative curriculum in a technology-enabled active learning environment with small class sizes. This initiative builds upon over eight years of cooperation and interaction between the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences at the University of New Haven and the Ministry of the Interior.
