University/Senior University Lecturer Position in Mathematics at NJIT

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at New Jersey Institute of Technology invites applications for a Lecturer position in the Mathematics Department with the primary focus to be on the Mathematics of Finance. The position is for one year starting September 1, 2018, with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory performance. The primary responsibility is to teach 12 credits each semester of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Mathematics. These courses are in the areas of Calculus, Probability and Statistics and Mathematics of Finance and any others as assigned by the Department Chair. Other responsibilities include maintaining regular scheduled office hours to provide tutoring, participating in course and program development, and participating in student events and external outreach activities. The lecturer is also expected to provide service to the department, the university and the community.

Candidates should hold at least a Masters degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related field. Collegiate level teaching experience is expected. The ability to support the Mathematics of Finance and Actuarial Science concentration is preferred. The successful completion of SOA or CAS exams is a plus.
