Position Description:    

The Marist College Department of Mathematics invites applications for a renewable term faculty position in Mathematics to begin fall 2019. Responsibilities will include teaching freshman and sophomore level mathematics courses (both in and outside of the major), teaching First Year Seminar courses, and may include institutional participation. Candidates should have a Master’s degree in mathematics from an accredited institution, and preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience.

The Department of Mathematics offers a traditional B.A. in Mathematics, a B.A. in Mathematics Education, and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics with financial/actuarial, biology, chemistry, and computer science concentrations. In addition, we offer an interdisciplinary B.S. in Data Science and Analytics with the Department of Computing Technology. The successful applicant will join a department characterized by a strong sense of community in which students are the central focus and faculty are both accessible and approachable. Teaching responsibilities will depend on the appointment made. All qualified candidates will be considered, however preference will be given to those who demonstrate superior teaching skills, enthusiasm in the classroom, and the ability to continually develop as a teacher.
