Postdoctoral Position in Heidelberg.

We invite applications for one or more postdoctoral positions in mathematics within the Cluster of Excellence "STRUCTURES - a unifying approach to emergent phenomena in the physical world, mathematics, and complex data", that will be established with funding from the German Research Foundation in January 2019. In the cluster of excellence we pursue fundamental research questions in various areas, and foster the collaboration of mathematicians, physicists and computer scientists. The cluster provides a vibrant scientific environment and offers young scientists many opportunities to implement their own scientific ideas and activities.

The successful candidate for the advertised position will contribute to the cluster project "Quantum Geometry and Topological Methods in Physics", which comprises several subprojects, including topics such as Spectral Networks and Higher Teichmüller Theory, Singular Spaces and Their Invariants, or Symplectic Dynamical Systems. Faculty members involved in this cluster project are: Peter Albers, Markus Banagl, Arthur Hebecker, Dieter Heermann, Beatrice Pozzetti, Johannes Walcher, and Anna Wienhard Applicants must have obtained a doctoral degree in mathematics or a related field, and demonstrate an outstanding research potential with interdisciplinary interests.

Appointments are for three years. Payment is according to the wage agreement of the civil service TV-L 100% of salary level E13. In addition travel funds, as well as funds to invite visitors will be provided through the cluster of excellence.
