The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Vermont is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor, with duties to start in late August of 2019. Preference will be given to researchers in the field of combinatorics, broadly construed, especially to those with interests in number theory, algebra or geometry. Outstanding candidates in closely related fields of pure mathematics who support the Department’s strengths in other areas of pure or applied mathematics will be given strong consideration.

The applicant must have an earned PhD in mathematics or a closely-related area, a strong research record, the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses, and the potential to supervise masters and doctoral students. Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
