The University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, renewable non-tenure-track faculty position of Assistant Teaching Professor of Mathematics in the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences to begin in August 2019. The position is primarily dedicated to undergraduate teaching. A Doctorate in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics is required by the start of the appointment. The successful candidate must be able to engage in effective teaching.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in mathematics, advising students seeking the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, and service to the School and University commensurate with expectations of all faculty. The expected teaching load is 12 student credit hours per semester. Experience teaching introductory mathematics or mathematics education courses at the college level, research activity related to the teaching and learning of mathematics (including undergraduate research) and participation in collaborative proposals and projects across discipline, school and college boundaries with private, state and federal funding entities will be considered positively.
