High Point University invites applications for a tenure-track position in mathematics in the Department of Mathematical Sciences beginning August 2019.

Applicants with expertise in applied mathematics, scientific computing, and related fields are preferred. A Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related field is required. Candidates must have a strong commitment to effective teaching, a demonstrated potential for excellence in both research and teaching, and an interest in mentoring undergraduate researchers. Candidates whose research specialty is interdisciplinary are strongly encouraged to apply.

Position responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester (typically two preparations), professional development, student advising, and university service. Teaching responsibilities may include both introductory and upper level mathematics courses. Opportunities also exist to develop first-year seminar and honors courses in support of the University’s general education and honors curricula.
