The Department of Mathematics at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in statistics, data science, or a related field. The new faculty member will also be expected to contribute to the development of an interdisciplinary data science program. A Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field by August 16, 2019 is required. The department offers undergraduate degrees in mathematics and actuarial science and a combined master’s degree in mathematics and secondary education.

Applicants should be fully committed to undergraduate teaching and advising. The teaching load is three courses per semester. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active program of scholarly productivity and publication and to participate in service to the Mathematics department, College of Arts and Sciences, and Saint Joseph’s University. Additional duties include mentoring students in undergraduate research and/or facilitating internships and contributing to the development of an interdisciplinary data science program.
