The Department of Statistics at the University of Chicago invites applications for the position of Senior Lecturer within the Committee on Computational and Applied Mathematics (CCAM). The successful candidate will be responsible for coordination and continued development of the MS in Computational and Applied Mathematics program, for development of new curriculum, and expected to teach four 10-week undergraduate or graduate courses each year. Duties will include participation in the admission process for the MS program, advising Master's students on course selection and on their research, and development or deployment of learning technology in the department.

This appointment will be at the academic rank of Senior Lecturer for an initial three-year term, starting August 1, 2019, with the possibility of reappointment.

At the time of appointment, successful applicants must have completed all requirements for a PhD in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Statistics or related field. Demonstrable broad knowledge of the field and outstanding effectiveness and competence in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level are essential. Applications must include descriptions of previous experience in teaching and research.
