Position Description:    

The University of New Haven is seeking to fill a renewable non-tenure track full-time faculty position in the Department of Mathematics beginning fall 2019. The position could be a lecturer position or Visiting Assistant Professor position depending on the qualifications and interests of the candidate. Teaching responsibilities could likely include: College Math, College Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics and additional courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. New hires are encouraged to work/collaborate with other departments such as Computer Science, Biology, or Engineering.

Candidates should have a doctorate in mathematics and a specialization in applied or computational mathematics such as data science, actuarial science, probability and statistics, numerical analysis. Experience with computer-based statistical tools, knowledge of a programming language, and either experience in or demonstrated commitment to: teaching in diverse student populations, student mentoring, effective instruction and active learning pedagogies are preferred.
