Mathematics Chair Position Blair Academy August 2019

Position Available: Blair Academy seeks an experienced Mathematics Department Chair for employment beginning in the 2019-20 school year. The strongest candidates will have an advanced degree in mathematics, a degree in teaching at the high school level, and a minimum of ten years of high school teaching experience. Candidates must be able to teach all levels, Algebra 1 through Advanced Placement Calculus. In addition, candidates must enjoy working with adolescents as well as with faculty and possess an exceptional work ethic, strong communication skills, a commitment to collegiality and a sense of humor. A passion for project/problem based learning and interdisciplinary approaches are two further qualifications for ideal candidates. The successful candidate will also participate in dormitory duty, extra-curricular activities, and coaching.

School Setting: Blair Academy is a co-educational, grade 9-postgraduate boarding school situated on 460 hilltop acres just minutes from the Delaware Water Gap and approximately one hour west of New York City. The school is 80% boarding, possesses great facilities and faculty housing, and is committed to the continuing education of the faculty.
