Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Acutarial and Financial Mathematics (Two Posts) Grade 8/9

£40,792 - £65,362 pa (pro rata for part time)

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Liverpool is seeking to appoint two Lecturers/Senior Lecturers in the area of Actuarial and Financial Mathematics to invigorate its research and teaching profile. Expansion in this field is of strategic importance to the University and as such there is major investment behind its Institute for Financial and Actuarial Mathematics. You should have a PhD in Mathematics and excellent research achievements in Actuarial or Financial Mathematics or related fields including frequent publications in internationally recognised journals. You should also be proficient in teaching both small and large groups, and have experience of student supervision and curriculum development and, for an appointment at grade 9, the ability to attract large-scale external research funding. You will play a part in the development of the institute through extending existing research networks within the University, supporting the University of Liverpool initiative in London, building new networks nationally and internationally and contributing to the development of the institutes' role within the region.
