Position Description: The Department of Mathematics at Marshall University seeks a candidate for a full-time three-year term position at the rank of assistant professor. Candidate must have a Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences with emphasis in statistics or related field.

The successful candidate will teach statistics and mathematics; participate in University, College, and Department committees as assigned by or in consultation with the Department Chair; conduct research in the field of expertise and related areas of pure and applied mathematics; include both graduate and undergraduate students in research; advise both undergraduate and graduate students on curricular matters, research works, and career matters as assigned by the Department Chair or College Dean; contribute to the University’s general education curriculum with its emphasis on a common First-Year Seminar and core curriculum courses that enhance students’ critical thinking, and the University’s support of interdisciplinary programs of study. Successful candidate must have his/her official transcripts (undergraduate and graduate) sent by the degree-granting institutions to Dr. Alfred Akinsete, Chair of Department, Department of Mathematics, Marshall University, One John Marshall Drive, Huntington, WV 25755.
