The Department of Mathematical & Statistical Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for one or more full-time instructor position beginning in the fall semester 2019 or spring 2020, to teach in Beijing at the University of Colorado Denver International College in Beijing.  Faculty members are expected to teach three or four classes per semester – approximately 12-15 contact hours. Candidates from all fields of the mathematical sciences will be considered.  Information about the CU Denver Department of Mathematical & Statistical Sciences can be found at

About the International College of Beijing (ICB): 

 

Located in the Haidian District of Beijing, ICB is an international partnership between the China Agricultural University (CAU) and the University of Colorado Denver that offers complete undergraduate programs in Economics and Communication. All courses are administered and taught by CU Denver faculty in English, and the degree earned is awarded by CU Denver.  For more information about the CU Denver/ICB program, please see the International College Beijing web site: http://www.international.ucdenver.edu/Beijing/.

 

Instructors receive two round-trip airline tickets between Beijing and their home country (or an allowance to purchase tickets), international health insurance, and free on-campus housing. Semesters are 15 weeks long; semester start dates are based on the lunar calendar with fall semesters beginning early to mid-September, and spring semesters beginning in mid-February to early-March.

 

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire. The University does not have direct authority to hire Chinese citizens working in China.

 

Faculty hired to teach at ICB must be able to meet the requirements to obtain the Z Visa to work in China (http://english.gov.cn/services/workinchina/); Under these Chinese rules, the maximum age of candidates seeking a work visa is 59.

 

 Minimum Qualifications: 

·        Master's degree in any field of the mathematical sciences

  • 2 years teaching experience
  • Independent teaching experience required
