JOB PURPOSE:
This position is funded by the NSF project “Genomics Underlying Toxin Tolerance (GUTT): Identifying Molecular Innovations that Predict Phenotypes of Toxin Tolerance in Wild Vertebrate Herbivores”. The position will provide a unique opportunity to develop a transdisciplinary research program that addresses the National Science Foundation’s research priority of predicting phenotypes from genetic and environmental factors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be involved in the mathematical modeling of individual physiology and population dynamics of this research project.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous research record in mathematical biology and related fields is required. The initial appointment will be for one year with a possibility of extension for two additional years depending on performance and availability of funding.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferences will be given to candidates with: • Excellent communication skills, • Interdisciplinary research experience, as evidenced by a peer reviewed publication record • Recent Ph.D. completion.
