of Michigan’s Department of Mathematics is initiating a search for an
appointment in algebra, analysis, or related fields at the tenure-track
assistant, associate, or professor level.
This will be a university-year appointment beginning September 1, 2020. All ranks are encouraged to apply. Candidates should hold a PhD in Mathematics
or a related field (e.g. Statistics); have extraordinary credentials in algebra,
analysis, or related fields; and show outstanding promise and/or
accomplishments in both research and teaching.
Salaries are competitive and are based on credentials. Junior candidates should furnish a placement
dossier consisting of a letter of application, curriculum vitae and three
letters of recommendation; senior candidates may send a letter of application,
curriculum vitae and names of three references.
In all cases, please provide a statement of teaching philosophy and
experience, evidence of teaching excellence and a statement of current and
future research plans. Application
