THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING SCHOOL OF PHYSICAL SCIENCES DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSISTANT IN PURE MATHEMATICS GRADE 7 £34,188 - £39,610 pa (or pro rata) We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Research Cluster of Pure Mathematics. The main duty in the post will be to work with Professor Lasse Rempe-Gillen and the Dynamical Systems group at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Liverpool. The research work will concern the topological dynamics of transcendental entire functions, with a particular focus on the iteration of functions with bounded post-singular sets. You must display clear evidence of excellent research through a record of strong publications. You must also have a background in complex analysis and the iteration of functions of one complex variables. A background in the geometry and dynamics of transcendental entire and meromorphic functions would be highly valuable. You should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in mathematics and experience of collaborative research. You will be expected to work effectively as a member of the research group in dynamical systems, to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, and to be able to write clearly and succinctly for publication. This post is available as soon as possible for three years.
