Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Statistics to support the Learning Sciences & Technologies Program

The WPI Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant\associate professor level, to begin in the Fall of 2020. We seek strong candidates in education statistics whose research profiles is a good fit to collaborate with WPI’s interdisciplinary Learning Sciences and Technology (LST) graduate program, and who will contribute to advance LST’s goal of improving K-16 education with learning innovations. The successful applicant is expected to develop a robust, externally funded, high-profile research program, and contribute to the mission of the Mathematical Sciences department and of the LST program. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Statistics, or a closely related field such a Doctorate from an Education School in Quantitative Methods, or Educational Measurement, Assessment, and Evaluation. The ideal candidate should have a strong program of fundable interdisciplinary research, e.g. a program that could be funded through the Institute of Education Sciences "Statistical and Research Methodology in Education" program. The selected candidate will teach statistics courses in the Learning Sciences and Technologies graduate program as well as courses in the Mathematical Sciences Department. In addition, the new faculty member will be expected to advise students and be invited to create new graduate courses in areas of interest. Salary, benefits and start-up funding are competitive and commensurate with research experience and accomplishments.
