Position Description:    

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Utah invites applications for the following positions:

Three-year Instructor (Lecturer) [teaching postdoctoral] positions.

All applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely-related field. However, those interested in career-line, non-tenure-track Instructor  (Lecturer) positions must have either a Masters’ degree, or Ph.D., in Mathematics or a closely-related field, as well as demonstrated evidence of successful teaching at a post-secondary level and related professional accomplishments.


The Carnegie Foundation has placed the University of Utah in their “highest research activity,”  and the University of Utah is the flagship institution of the Utah System of Higher Education. 

The University is located in Salt Lake City at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains. This location offers unparalleled opportunities for outdoor recreation, with ten world-class ski resorts and five national parks within hours of the city. Salt Lake City is the center of a metropolitan area with a population of approximately one million residents, has extensive arts and cultural activities, and has a major international airport with a Delta Airlines hub and direct flights to most U.S. cities and direct international flights to Paris, London, Amsterdam, and Mexico City.
