The Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for one or more ladder rank faculty positions at the ranks of Full, Associate, or Assistant Professor, with an expected start date of July 1, 2020. Candidates in all areas of pure and applied mathematics are encouraged to apply. Professorships and Associate Professorships carry tenure, and Assistant Professor positions are regarded as tenure-track..

Basic Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent international degree), or be enrolled in a PhD or equivalent international degree-granting program at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications: Tenure-track applicants are expected to have demonstrated excellent research potential; tenured applicants should have research accomplishments of wide recognition. Serious consideration will be given to the candidate’s potential for success in mentoring PhD students, to the record in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, to evidence of effective leadership, to professional service, as well as to contributions to advancing or promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through research, teaching, and/or service. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
