Position Description:    

Applications are invited for several positions as Elliott Assistant Research Professor of Mathematics and Griffiths Assistant Research Professor of Mathematics. Successful candidates will spend part of the time teaching and conducting research at Duke University in Durham NC and part of the time teaching at Duke Kunshan University (DKU) in China.  

Candidates should have completed a doctorate as of August 1, 2020 and show definite promise in research and teaching. The teaching load for Elliott ARPs will be two courses during one semester and one course during the other, so that the appointee will have additional time for research. The teaching load for Griffiths ARPs will vary, but will generally be one to three courses per academic year. The exact number of terms spent in Duke Kunshan University will depend on the candidates desires and the needs of the universities. 

Transit to DKU will be provided as well as housing while at DKU. DKU semesters are compressed intensive 7-week terms which leaves additional time free for research activities. Elliott ARP appointments are for three years while Griffiths may be up to three years. 

Appointments begin on August 1, 2020.
