Minimum qualifications: Applicants must have a master’s degree in mathematics by July 1, 2020, or completion of all coursework for a doctorate in mathematics by July 1, 2020 (dissertation may or may not be completed). Applicants must have effective written communication skills and the potential to become effective teachers of mathematics courses.

Application Process: Applicants must submit a cover letter, CV, statement of teaching philosophy, and three letters of recommendation, at least two of which must focus on teaching ability. Applicants must also submit an unofficial graduate school transcript. If a graduate degree in mathematics has been conferred by the time of application, the transcript must reflect that. In addition, applicants must submit a list of all courses for which they have had teaching duties. For each course, applicants must explain the nature of the course, as well as the level of responsibility for the course content, assignments, tests, grading, and presentation of the course material. In particular, the applicant must state “teaching assistant” or “instructor of record” for each course listed. If the applicant has no teaching experience, they must submit in lieu of this list a page with the statement "I have no teaching experience." Applicants are encouraged to submit summaries of recent teaching evaluations, if available.

Applicants pursuing a master’s degree in mathematics whose degree has not been conferred at the time of application must submit a statement from their degree-granting department indicating the anticipated timeline for completion. Applicants without a master’s degree in mathematics who have completed all coursework for a doctorate in mathematics (with a dissertation that may or may not be complete) must submit a statement from their degree-granting department indicating the anticipated timeline for completion of the coursework required for the doctorate.

The application deadline is December 17, 2019, at 11:55 PM. Letters of recommendation will be due by 11:55 PM, within twenty-one days after the candidate has completed the application process.
