The IUPUI Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track faculty positions. Contingent on final budgetary approval, the position is to begin August 1, 2020.

As one of the largest academic units on campus serving more than 13,000 students each year, the Department is central to the mission of IUPUI to advance the State of Indiana and the intellectual growth of its citizens to the highest levels. The Department, with a faculty of 50, offers programs of study leading to a range of Purdue University B.S, M.S., and Ph.D. degrees, including: a Ph.D./M.S. in Mathematics with specialization in Pure Math, Applied Math or Mathematical Statistics; an M.S. in Applied Statistics or Math Education; and a B.S. in Mathematics with concentration in Pure Math, Applied Math, Applied Statistics, Actuarial Science or Math Education. The Department also offers, in collaboration with the Department of Computer & Information Science, a joint MS degree program in Computational Data Sciences and also a Ph.D. degree in biostatistics in collaboration with the Departments of Biostatistics in the IU School of Public Health and the IU School of Medicine.

We are looking for candidates for appointment who will significantly contribute to the department's research programs and will advance and support its teaching mission at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences (at the time of appointment), a demonstrated strong research program and be able to teach effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to quality research and teaching. Preference will be given to applicants specializing in areas of interest within the department, which include: mathematical physics and integrable systems, dynamical systems, operator algebras and non-commutative geometry, differential equations/geometry, mathematical neuroscience and biomathematics, scientific computing, and statistics.
