The Department of Mathematics at the University of Florida invites applications for two Visiting Assistant Professor positions, beginning August 16, 2020. The area of specialization is open, but special attention will be given to applicants whose research interests overlap with current faculty. The teaching assignment is 4 courses per year, 2 courses in the fall semester and 2 courses in the spring semester, and may include lower division course assignments (calculus, etc.). Participation in the department’s research activities is expected. A Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences or the equivalent is required. Candidates with strong promise in research and teaching are encouraged to apply.

The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition, the position comes with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and retirement. Some additional support for travel is possible. This is a full-time, nine-month, time-limited, non-tenure track appointment with the possibility of renewal for one additional academic year contingent on satisfactory performance, conduct, and funding.
