The Department of Mathematics at Berea College announces a tenure-track position in Mathematics at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2020. The position requires a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics. Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate education in a diverse and inclusive environment as well as peer-reviewed scholarship. Special consideration will be given to candidates whose areas of scholarly interests complement those of current faculty and may engage undergraduates in genuine research activities.

Responsibilities include: teaching introductory and advanced undergraduate mathematics courses; supervising undergraduate teaching assistants; advising undergraduate mathematics majors and minors; collaborating with faculty on curriculum design, learning outcomes assessment, and other initiatives; and engage in ongoing faculty development and scholarship. Successful candidates will, through their teaching, scholarship or service, demonstrate a commitment to building a diverse community.
