The Ph.D. Program in Mathematics at the GC is a crossroads for the many research mathematicians working in the City University of New York, as well as a place for doctoral students to gain the background they will need to pursue careers in mathematics. The Program seeks a Post-Doctoral Fellow/Research Associate to begin in Fall 2020 for a term of two years.

The successful candidate will take part in research activities of the program and will also teach one course per year at a CUNY undergraduate campus as an Adjunct Professor. Further information about the Ph.D. Program in Mathematics at the GC can be found at:


Conducts academic research in connection with CUNY programs; may assist faculty, staff, and students in conducting research and lead research efforts involving others.

- Develops research plans and proposals and participates in acquiring funding

- Collects, analyzes, and assures validity of data

- Writes progress reports; writes and publishes findings

- Collaborates with internal and external colleagues

- Adheres to standards for safety and hygiene and ethical conduct as defined by the University and relevant outside parties


Doctoral Degree in a related field and demonstrated research ability.


Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics awarded prior to July 1, 2020 and show outstanding research potential.
