Tenure-Track Position

The College of Charleston Department of Mathematics invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning August 2020. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in a mathematical science by the employment start date. Since teaching, research and service make up the primary responsibilities of the positon, a record of and potential for excellence in these areas, including directing student research, make up the basis for ranking candidates. We are seeking candidates whose research involves applications of mathematics or statistics to data science. There is a long standing joint undergraduate data science program between the Departments of Computer Science and Mathematics, and a new master’s level data science program. Although the faculty position will be in the Department of Mathematics, the teaching division will typically be two-thirds mathematics and one-third data science courses.
