Centenary College of Louisiana invites applications for a tenure-track position starting August 2020. We are seeking a dynamic individual capable of teaching a variety of courses in applied math, statistics, computer science, or data science. A strong interest and ability to teach courses in more than one of these areas is highly desirable. Applicants should have strong teaching skills and an interest in working in a liberal arts environment that values interdisciplinary cooperation. The ability to engage undergraduate students in research experiences would be considered a plus. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field from an accredited institution. Teaching responsibilities include three courses per semester, typically one or two service courses and an upper level course.

The Mathematics department offers an undergraduate degree in mathematics with a concentration in theoretical or computational mathematics, as well as a minor in computer science. The department is housed in its own building, graduates from 3 to 8 students a year, and has a long history of using innovative teaching techniques and incorporating technology in the classroom. Founded in 1825, Centenary College is the oldest chartered liberal arts college west of the Mississippi River and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Centenary is one of 16 colleges and universities constituting the Associated Colleges of the South (ACS) and is regularly rated as one of the top colleges in the South.
