The University of New Hampshire invites applications for a tenure-track, full-time faculty position of Assistant Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Applied Engineering and Sciences at UNH Manchester. This position has an anticipated start date of August 2020.

UNH seeks an energetic and visionary faculty member who will teach undergraduate courses in the mathematics curriculum on the urban UNH campus in Manchester. A typical course load is three courses per semester. Other essential duties include scholarship, general curriculum design and development, and committee participation and duties designed to support the growth of the academic programs in the department, Analytics and Data Science, Computing Technology, and Engineering Technology programs. In addition to the mathematics and program-specific curricula, the department offers interdisciplinary courses that integrate mathematics in 3D printing, biofabrication, and analytics and data science courses.

The successful candidate will be expected to serve as Coordinator of the Mathematics Curricula at UNH Manchester. Demonstrated experience in the creation and supervision of interdisciplinary curriculum with various departments is expected. Candidates should demonstrate a record of excellence in teaching in both in-person and online modalities. The department is seeking in particular individuals with a strong background in innovative teaching techniques. Experience with three-dimensional modeling and research in geometry is also sought.

This is a nine-month, academic year position, with the possibility of summer teaching or research assignments. Experience working with college age and non-traditional students is required. Candidates are expected to hold a PhD in Mathematics. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated ability to teach effectively in a dynamic and innovating learning environment.
