Position Description:

Successful applicants will be affiliated with the Department of Statistics and Data Science, the Program in Applied Mathematics, and the Institute of Quantitative Biology (QBio). They will be able to work out of the QBio wing of the brand-new Yale Science Building (YSB). QBio is a melting pot for theoreticians and experimentalists from different departments and areas. Successful applicants will be supervised by Roy Lederman. 

Research opportunities are available in the mathematics of data science and machine learning, inverse problems in biology and imaging (in particular cryo-Electron Microscopy (cryo-EM)) and computational mathematics. Collaboration with additional members of the Department of Statistics and Data Science, the Program in Applied Mathematics, the Department of Mathematics and the Institute of Quantitative Biology on theory and applications which promotes interaction between programs will be encouraged.  

Skills and Qualifications: 
* Originality, independence, leadership, collegiality and genuine passion for science. 
* PhD (or expected PhD) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (signal processing or information theory) or related area.
