We are hiring a tenured Chair for the Mathematics Department at an Associate or Full Professor level.  This person will play a major role in the future of the department including pedagogical innovation and future tenure-track hires.  PhDs in the mathematical sciences, please apply if you:

  • Are excited about cross-disciplinary collaboration between Math and everything from Physics to Sculpture.

The new chair will help the department in its transition to a new curriculum that includes three- and twelve-week semesters and a redesign of both major requirements and the general education curriculum. The chair will teach three courses per semester, serve as an academic advisor, engage in scholarly activity, teach interdisciplinary and general education offerings, and participate on faculty committees.

The Department offers courses that serve science, business, and education majors.  Candidates should be committed to working effectively with a broad range of student interests and abilities.  Candidates should be committed to the mission of the liberal arts and supporting student-centered and inquiry-based methods.
