Postdoctoral Position Available:

A postdoctoral research position is available to work on projects in the areas of applied and computational mathematics and atmospheric science. The research will involve investigation of new methodologies for numerical simulation of atmospheric dynamics, convection, clouds, and rainfall.

Applicants must hold (or expect to hold by the start date of their appointment) a PhD in Mathematics, Engineering, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, or a related field, and must be within six years of receiving their degree. Applicants must have experience in at least one of the areas of numerical analysis, computational science, high-performance computing, computational fluid dynamics, large-eddy simulation, cloud-resolving models, numerical weather prediction, climate modeling, or a related type of numerical modeling.  The position will be based in a department to be determined at the time of hire; possible examples include the Department of Mathematics or the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences.

The position is expected to be for a fixed term of three years, depending on performance and subject to availability of funding. The appointment can start as early as February 2020 or as late as September 2020. This position carries no teaching responsibilities.
