... invites applications for a postdoctoral position in homological algebra with connections to representation theory of associative algebras, commutative algebra or algebraic geometry.

The positions will be funded by Jan Stovicek's project "Symmetries, dualities and approximations in derived algebraic geometry and representation theory" awarded by the Czech Science Foundation. There are no teaching duties and knowledge of Czech language is not necessary.

Applicants should have working knowledge of homological algebra, and preferably with derived categories. Applicants with experience in the theory of ring spectra are also welcome to apply.

Due to restrictions of the grant agency, applicants can be employed only within 8 years from receiving their Ph.D., excluding maternity and parental leave, and sick leave in the case of a long-term illness.

The expected duration of the position is March 1, 2020 - December 31, 2022, but the starting and ending dates are negotiable.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University is leading institution in mathematics in Czech Republic, with highly motivated and well educated students in our mathematics programs. The School of Mathematics has about 110 academic positions, covering most of the major areas of mathematics.

The Department of Algebra, where the position will be hosted, offers an open minded international environment, with outstanding conditions for independent research. We currently have about 15 permanent and 10 postdoctoral positions, with over a quarter of these positions held by international researchers.
