Job description

The research group in Number Theory at the Department of Mathematics is offering a one-year post-doctoral position with the possibility of prolongation for one additional year. The successful candidate is expected to conduct research within the area of analytic number theory, additive combinatorics or related fields. In addition, the position involves a limited teaching load corresponding to 10% of the full working hours.

A PhD degree, or equivalent foreign degree, in mathematics or related areas is a requirement. We seek a candidate with a strong background in areas of mathematics relevant to the research activity of the group. The successful applicant should be strongly motivated, have the capability to work independently as well as in collaboration with members of the research group, and have good communication skills. No skills in Swedish are required.


A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline. Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, two years. A position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
