The Mathematical Sciences Department at the United States Military Academy at West Point has an opening for the Director of their Center for Leadership and Diversity in STEM beginning summer (late June) of 2020. Primary responsibilities include:

•You will teach undergraduate mathematics courses in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the United States Military Academy.

•Your primary teaching duties will be in core program courses including Mathematical Modeling and Introduction to Calculus, Calculus, and Probability and Statistics.

•You will actively participate in faculty development, and will support the personal growth and development of cadets in and out of the classroom, as a role model for future leaders of the Nation.

•You will plan and execute the Department's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) outreach activities, including running STEM workshops for middle school and high school students both at West Point and in cities around the country.

Candidates will be evaluated on their potential for scholarly accomplishment, their ability to teach our core mathematics courses (Mathematical Modeling and Intro to Calculus, Calculus, and Probability and Statistics) as well as our electives courses, their ability to plan and execute both internal and external workshops, including managing a budget, and a demonstrated ability to advance leadership and diversity in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). This is a 3-year renewable term appointment. The salary plus locality adjustment is $88.586 to $124,782.
