Postdoctoral Researcher in Analysis on Metric Spaces Unit 

The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST; see is a dynamic new graduate university of science and technology in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The university is located on 85 hectares of protected forestland overlooking beautiful shoreline and coral reefs. The campus is striking architecturally, and the facilities are outstanding (OIST campus video tour). There are no academic departments, which facilitates multidisciplinary research. Position summary
Postdoctoral Researcher in Prof. Xiaodan Zhou’s Analysis on Metric Spaces Unit. 

Working Location: 1919-1 Tancha, Onna-son, Okinawa, Japan 904-0495


1. Participate in the activities of the Analysis on Metric Spaces group. 
2. Engage in ongoing and active research. 

Qualifications: (Required) 

1. A PhD in mathematics, degree requirements expected to be completed no later than August 31, 2020.
2. Proficiency in the English Language. 

Report to: Professor Xiaodan Zhou/Analysis on Metric Spaces Unit  

Starting Date: Flexible start date from September 2020 onwards. 

Term: Term: Full-time, fixed term appointment for 2 years in the first instance. This contract may be renewed up to a total of 3 years.   

Compensation & Benefits: Compensation in accordance with the OIST Employee Compensation Regulations Benefits: 
1. Relocation, housing and commuting allowances;

3. Health insurance (Private School Mutual Aid ); 4. Welfare pension insurance (kousei-nenkin);
5. Worker’s accident compensation insurance (roudousha-saigai-hoshou-hoken).
