The Beloit College Department of Mathematics and Computer Science seeks excellent teachers and productive researchers to fill two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning with the 2021-2022 academic year. We seek candidates who can contribute to and advance the department’s commitment to increasing student interest and success in mathematics. We especially seek candidates who have demonstrated success in working with ethnically, culturally, and/or socio-economically diverse populations of students.

The successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. in mathematics or statistics, and each new faculty member will teach Calculus I, Calculus II, Linear Algebra, as well as intermediate and/or advanced courses in their area(s) of expertise. We seek a candidate with expertise and interests in algebra, analysis, or number theory; and another candidate with expertise in statistics who can contribute to our emerging Data Analytics and Science program.

The successful candidates will teach six courses per year; develop research programs that engage undergraduates; contribute to all-college programs, including the advanced mentoring program, career channels and international education; and participate in campus governance.

Located in a diverse community close to Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago, Beloit is a selective undergraduate liberal arts college that attracts students from across the United States and the world. The college emphasizes excellence in teaching, learning beyond the traditional classroom, international perspectives, and collaborative research among students and faculty. It is recognized as one of the Colleges That Change Lives.
