The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Seton Hall University invites
applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in mathematics
to start in August 2022. A PhD in mathematics is required, and the successful applicant will
have a strong interest in working with undergraduates and involving them in research projects.
While all areas of mathematics will be considered, priority will be given to applicants in the field
of Algebra. Teaching responsibilities will include mathematics courses at all undergraduate
levels, including service courses; applicants would be expected to support the department
initiatives in Cybersecurity (including cryptography) as well as teach the upper-level offerings in
Abstract Algebra and Number Theory. Ph.D. must be completed by the start of employment.
Teaching experience and/or a record of publication is highly advantageous. A completed application
will include a cover letter, curriculum vita, research statement, teaching statement, and three letters of reference at least one of which addresses teaching. Applications should be submitted at https://jobs.shu.edu/cw/en-us/job/494934/assistant-professor-tenure-track. Applications will be reviewed as received. Questions about the Mathematics program may be addressed to Dr. Nathan Kahl (Nathan.Kahl@shu.edu). Seton Hall University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
