| Oregon State University Department of Mathematics invites applicants to apply for one or more Visiting/Postdoctoral faculty positions commencing September 16, 2012. These will be fixed term annual appointments with the possibility of up to two subsequent one-year appointments depending availability of funding and performance. Salary is commensurate with experience. A PhD in mathematics is required by the time of appointment.
The Department seeks candidates whose research interests mesh well with those of current faculty. The Department has research groups in Algebra/Number Theory, Analysis, Applied Mathematics, Geometry/Topology, Mathematics Education, Numerical Analysis, and Probability.

The successful candidate should have strong accomplishments or promise in both research and teaching, and must value working with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds. Applicants must submit the following: American Mathematical Society cover sheet; a cover letter for the application describing experience, qualifications, interests, and evidence of teaching excellence; curriculum vita;
statement of research objectives; statement of teaching objectives; and three letters of reference, at least one of which addresses the applicant's teaching ability or potential.
