|The Department of Mathematics at Oklahoma State University invites applications for the position of Director of the Mathematics Learning Success Center (MLSC). This is a non-tenure-track faculty position offering an initial three-year appointment with annual review. Primary duties are to oversee the MLSC, an 8000 square foot tutoring and computer assisted learning center which offers drop-in and scheduled learning resources for mathematics courses ranging from college algebra up through differential equations and linear algebra. The MLSC Director will hire undergraduate coordinators and undergraduate tutors and will develop training programs for new tutors, in coordination with the faculty. The Director will also develop innovative programs to support instruction and enhance student learning and success in mathematics. In addition, the MLSC Director, who will also have an appointment as a clinical instructor, will teach 1-2 courses per semester. Candidates should have a record of excellence in teaching college-level mathematics, commitment to student learning and success, strong leadership ability and administrative skills, and outstanding communication skills. A Masters degree in mathematics or mathematics education is required; a Ph.D. in one of those fields is preferred. Experience in teaching entry-level college mathematics courses is required; the candidate’s ability to teach courses up through linear algebra and differential equations is preferred. Experience in a peer tutoring facility, especially supervisory or administrative experience, is desirable.|
