| The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Bowling Green State University is hiring several instructors for the academic year 2012-2013. A full-time instructor will teach a variety of freshman level courses. Usual assignments include Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Precalculus, Introduction to Statistics, Business Calculus, Calculus I and II. Candidates with a PhD may teach higher level courses, including upper division courses.
A typical teaching assignment consists of four courses each semester (12 contact hours). The department tries to keep preparation for different courses to a minimum. For example, two sections of Introduction to Statistics and two sections of College Algebra would be one possible teaching assignment.
Qualifications: A Master’s degree or PhD in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or Statistics and experience teaching a variety of mathematics courses.
The initial appointment is for one year and is contingent upon adequate student enrollment. Renewal for additional terms is possible, depending on performance and student enrollment.
