Augusta University is seeking to fill a tenure-track position in mathematics education to begin in August 2017. Candidates must have either a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education with at least 18 graduate-level credit hours in mathematics, or a Ph.D. in Mathematics with extensive experience in teaching mathematics content courses for education majors. Candidates with experience teaching content courses for early childhood education majors are preferred. This position requires an active research program in mathematics education and a commitment to outstanding teaching, with a typical teaching load of approximately 18 credit hours per academic year. Candidates should have a research program which will allow them to pursue external funding.
Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates for a position at the rank of associate professor should have a nationally recognized research presence, and candidates for a position at the rank of full professor should be internationally recognized in their field, and should have a record of successful external funding.
Applicants must hold (or receive before start of employment) a Ph.D. in mathematics or a Ph.D. in mathematics education with at least 18 graduate-level credit hours in mathematics.
