Art of Problem Solving has worked with many of the world’s top math students over the past 13 years, including nearly all of the winners of major national middle and high school contests. Our online school for middle and high school students will have over 15,000 enrollments this year, and our online community has nearly a quarter million users. We’re in the process of building an online experience for our Beast Academy elementary school curriculum, and we’ve launched our first two in-person AoPS Academy learning centers this year.

We’re growing quickly, and we need more people to help fuel that growth! One the key roles is that of a team builder who will have both outward-facing and inward-facing responsibilities.

The primary external responsibility is finding more people to join our company as full-time employees, part-time instructors, or part-time assistant instructors. We seek someone who knows how to explore many networks in creative ways to find talented people. This may include attending math conferences and programs to meet new people who are as excited about math and education as we are. We need an advocate who can make AoPS easy to find for the people we need, and who will get new talent in the door.

Internally, the team builder will carefully study our company culture, learning about each individual as well as the roles the company needs filled. They will then use their findings to work with the CEO and other group leaders at AoPS to help our current and future team members thrive.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Passionate about education
  • An outstanding writer
  • Persistent and ambitious
  • Able to identify subtle workplace changes that can improve our team’s workday experience
  • Eager to work with lots of different types of intelligent people and to figure out how they mesh
  • Excellent at finding ways for people to collaborate more effectively

To apply, send a cover letter and resume to Highlight organizations, events, or teams that you have helped build or coordinate. Please include a writing sample or a link to a writing sample. This is a full-time position in our offices in San Diego, CA.
