Ashoka University is a private, nonprofit university providing a high quality liberal arts and sciences education, the first of its kind in India. Conceived in dialogue between entrepreneurs and intellectuals, the University aims to bring global standards to education in India, and provide Indian students with a liberal education that promotes inquiry equally in the arts and sciences.


We are looking for talented faculty to build a strong Mathematics department, where they will help conceive of and teach, the Mathematics programme. Faculty members in the department are expected to undertake high quality research in addition to teaching two courses per semester.


Applications are welcomed from candidates holding a Ph.D in Pure or Applied Mathematics. Ideally, applicants will have 3-5 years of teaching experience in a Mathematics department at a liberal arts college or a research university, but applicants who have just completed their Ph.D are also welcome. This is a rank-open position; our final determination of rank will depend on the experience and qualifications of individual candidates. Salaries are competitive; the university also provides support for research.
