The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Oakland University invites applications for a one-year visiting position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics beginning Fall Semester 2020. Responsibilities of this position include teaching, research, and contribution to the Department’s program. For this appointment, candidates must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics, or a closely related area (or its requirements completed) by August 15, 2020.

The primary selection criteria will be an applicant’s potential for effective teaching (at both undergraduate and graduate level) and quality research. Amongst applicants who are found highly qualified with respect to these criteria, preference will be given to those who can fulfill the department’s current instructional needs in discrete mathematics and those with strong research collaboration potential with members of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
