The Department of Mathematics of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", in Rome, Italy, invites expressions of interest for an RTDB (tenure track) position in Algebra. Areas of research in Algebra that are currently represented in the Department include algebraic and geometric combinatorics, representation theory (in its algebraic, geometric and combinatorial aspects), homological algebra and its applications, Lie theory, category theory and its generalizations. Applicants in other areas of algebra are also encouraged to apply.

The appointment is at the level of "Ricercatore TD – B" (Assistant Professor to be confirmed as a tenured Associate Professor after a period of three years). Any position at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" includes comprehensive health care and retirement benefits. A five-year tax exemption on 90% of the salary is given (in accordance to current Italian tax laws) if the successful applicant has been residing outside of Italy for 2 years or more. Teaching is in Italian, after a period.
