Position Description:    

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Dalhousie University in the broad research areas of mathematical analysis and partial differential equations, under the appointment of Professors Suresh Eswarathasan, David Iron, and Theodore Kolokolnikov. While all applicants with a background in analysis and PDEs will be considered, candidates with prior experience in microlocal analysis, asymptotic analysis, dynamical systems, and/or numerical methods will be given special attention. Applicants must hold a PhD degree in mathematics or a related field and have an outstanding academic record.

The anticipated starting date is September 1, 2021. The initial appointment will be for one year, with potential renewal for a second year. There is also a possibility for teaching 1-2 undergraduate courses in the potential two-year span, based on the needs of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The successful candidate will thus be expected to engage with the faculty in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The base level salary (without any teaching) is $38,500 CAD per year.
