The Department of Mathematics at Michigan State University invites applications for Research Associates with a starting date of January 1, 2021. This is an academic year, benefits eligible position that is potentially renewable on an annual basis through Spring 2023 contingent upon satisfactory performance and availability of funding. Candidates will be evaluated on their potential in research and teaching. Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or equivalent. Applications from all areas of mathematical research will be considered. Research Associates are paired with a sponsoring faculty mentor who will direct their research activities. The research associate will engage in our active instructional mentoring program if their appointment includes an instructional component. Applicants should submit a vita, statements on research and on teaching, and should arrange for at least 4 letters of recommendation to be submitted, one of which must specifically address the applicant's teaching experiences. It is helpful if the cover letter indicates if the applicant wishes to be considered by specific MSU faculty.
